Ireland in a Campervan

Corked!

We leave Passage East after breakfast with an abundance of recommendations and a limited amount of time. We head straight to Cork, and soon realise we’ve no patience for towns and keep going West.

Abra Kebabra and we’re out of Cork

As soon as we leave Cork, the scenery changes. We join the West Atlantic Way and its breathtaking. It’s not stopped raining and we are enjoying the view from the comfort of the van. It’s been a long drive so we decide to find a spot for the night early.

Zoom in until you like the look of something- the scientific method of finding a place to stay.

We arrive on a small beach and it’s remote. The sky is overcast but the rain feels clean as the Atlantic safely roars in the distance and we feel the protection of the cove.

It’s not been dry enough to light a fire so far on the trip so for entertainment I settle for flirting with seaweed. The rain starts again so we settle in for the night with hot chocolate and our books.

And then…. A miracle!

Ahoy, blue skies appear

After a quick dip, we are back on the road.
