Today there is no plan or goal, we are on the N71 West for a few miles and then North. We are our furthest point away from Dublin. No drama we’ve 48 hours before the ferry.

The road North takes us through Bantry and we mostly hug the coast for fantastic views.
The weather in the West of Ireland is changeable.
Our first stop is Glengarriff. there’s a roadside sign for a bamboo park and I’m captivated for the next 2 hours. €8 entry fee but highly recommend.

We get back on the road stopping off at whatever tickles my fancy which is Druids and donkeys for the next 20km.

The N71 leaves county Cork and we head North into county Kerry, we decide to head for Killarney National Park to Muckross Abby, but realise there’s too much beauty to see over the next 30km to not stop along the way.

The weather is so changeable on the West coast, it blows hot and cold. The sun comes out and there’s nothing but blue skies, but the wind above is so fast that within 10 minutes it’s raining again.
We arrive around 5pm and it’s battering it down so we take a late lunch in the van.

It’s 6pm and the sun comes out so it feels like a brand new day, this day has given so much, will it ever end?

The best thing about Muckross House and it’s grounds is its free!
The boring part now is to find a spot for the night with at least 4G as I have to work tomorrow, albeit very remotely. A four season day behind us we decided on the Dingle Peninsula for the night.
